Cheetah Plains is an authentic safari lodge located in the north of Sabi Sand Game Reserve with the Kruger National Park as one neighbour and Mala Mala as the other. It overlooks a beautiful dam and is one of the oldest bush camps in the Sabi Sands. With its traditional safari values, comfortable accommodation, and abundant wildlife it is the perfect lodge for a safari getaway. The park is famed for its unparalleled game viewing, with high densities of leopards, elephants, rhinos, cape buffalos, and lions. The lodge’s warm and welcoming staff provide outstanding hospitality and food is served in the boma under the stars around a crackling camp-fire; the perfect way to sit back and relax after a long game-viewing filled day. A comfortable lounge area and swimming pool are also available for relaxation surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bushveld.

There are nine traditionally-thatched chalets surrounded by beautiful indigenous gardens and the African bushveld. The few chalets offer an exclusive safari experience away from the masses of the crowds. Six of the chalets are standard chalets; each with an en-suite bathroom, a beautiful draped double bed, air-conditioning and an overhead fan. The two luxury chalets are larger than the standard ones and boast an outdoor shower. Finally, the last chalet is a 2 bedroom bush cottage which has been fenced off and is suitable for families with children.

There are 2 game drives offered daily; one in the early morning and one in the late afternoon. The first of which is ideal for watching the magnificent African sunrise against a backdrop of humming birds, and the later being the perfect time for viewing predators, such as the lion and leopard, set off on their night of hunting. Bush walks and birding safaris are also offered, both of which are guided by passionate and professional rangers. A unique service offered by Cheetah Plains is the scheduled photographic safaris which are given on game drive vehicles that have been specially kitted out with custom photographic seats and control arms. Theses tours are given with professional photographs at hand and ensure that you are perfectly equipped to capture all of the unforgettable photographic moments.
