Rock Lodge features ten individually designed rooms and suites as well as a swimming pool, gymnasium, a wine cellar, Aroma Boma spa with panoramic views, a Bush Observatory perfect for stargazing and tennis courts. Guests can enjoy safari walks, moonlit bush dinners and of course, the twice daily game drives.

Here the view is king and there are endless opportunities to spot the roaming wildlife, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains far in the distance. The view inside is just as spectacular and the granite rock of the koppie is a key feature of the main house’s design and each room has a different design reflecting African tribal influences and style.

At Ulusaba dining is a very important part of your stay, the chefs work hard from morning until night to provide the freshest and tastiest meals possible. All meals and drinks are included in your rates, and with at least six opportunities per day to eat, we promise you won’t go hungry!

Internationally renowned chefs have developed numerous pan-African dishes influenced by many African cultures, flavours and spices. Recipes are constantly refreshed and consist of seasonal, local ingredients.

Whether dining under the African sky, in the Boma, on a deck or in the dining room, menus and meals promise to be exciting, social and inspirational. All breads and pastries are home baked daily and we also cater for private meals and special occasions.

Aroma Boma Spa
The Aroma Boma at Ulusaba is the perfect antidote to all the excitement of being out on the game drives. Book in for a relaxing treatment, from facial rituals to massage to essential grooming.The Aroma Boma at Rock Lodge is located 800 feet above the African Savannah with truly stunning views over the Bush and offers complete privacy.

Ulusaba uses a range of products from ‘Africology’. ‘Africology’ prides itself on its African roots, taking inspiration from home and using local active ingredients including Rooibos, Aloe, Marula and African Potato. Spa treatment are available for an additional charge.

There is a wine cellar at Rock Lodge which offers a comfortable location to enjoy a night of wine tasting.

Star Gazing
Guests can enjoy a star gazing evening as part of their game viewing experience at our observatory in the Bush. Our Rangers will teach all about the constellations you can see from points in the southern hemisphere!

Walking in the bush
The daily Safari walk usually commences after breakfast. This is a fascinating activity as it allows
you to observe the smaller animals that you would usually not see while out on the game vehicles. Our knowledgeable Rangers and Trackers will enthral you with stories about the medicinal properties of plants, local beliefs regarding the wildlife and fascinating facts.

Tennis in the bush
Fancy a spot of tennis? We have two floodlit tennis courts for you to play on during your stay. Don’t worry about tennis racquets and tennis balls – we have everything you need as well as a fully stocked bar!

Swimming pool
There is an outdoor heated swimming pool, perfect for rest and relxation. The pool is solar heated in the winter months (May to September).

Gym
There is a gym for guests use which is available 24 hours.
