BAYETE TENTED LODGE
The name for this Shamwari lodge comes from the African greeting, pronounced “By-ye-ti”. The English translation for this word is “I salute you” and is one of the warmest welcomes in the African culture in this area of the country.
Bayethe Tented Lodge is a luxury tented lodge of twelve suites. ‘By-ye-ti’ is the welcoming greeting you will receive on your arrival at this splendid stone-walled and thatch lodge. In our opinion, Bayethe is one of the nicest lodges at Shamwari, as it has a true authentic bush feel and yet is still luxurious.
The attractive main lodge of stone and thatch has a double volume sitting and dining area. Massive glass walls which can be folded back to open the lodge to the bush, or closed in the chilly winter evenings. There’s an adjacent outside Boma for traditional fireside dining under the stars.
The delightful little thatched bar is set right on the edge of a dam, perfect for lunchtime drinks or even relaxing during the quiet hours of the afternoon. Early morning and evening game viewing drives in open land rovers as well as guided
Each of the twin-bedded tented suites at Shamwari Bayethe is nestled along the bed of the river, camouflaged under trees allowing ample privacy and unsurpassed comforts. Each tented suite is air-conditioned with en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower as well as its own private plunge pool and viewing deck.nature walks and bird watching are all part of this magnificent experience.
