Zambia sits mainly on an expansive central plateau, and boasts the Zambezi, Kafue and Luangwa rivers – as well as one of the largest waterfalls in the world, the Victoria Falls, which it shares with neighbouring Zimbabwe.

Most of the country has a mild, pleasant climate, while the river valleys are hotter and more humid; the extreme north becomes tropical on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, one of Zambia’s ten large lakes.

While Lusaka is the country’s capital, Livingstone, just ten kilometres from the Falls, has become well-known as a hub for adventure travel. From scenic flights to soaring silently on a hot air balloon over one of the most remote wildlife-rich areas on Earth, this seven-day adventure not only takes Africa in from the skies but also includes up close and personal wildlife experiences on foot, by vehicle and even boat. Kafue’s Busanga Plains is known for its territorial lions roaming alongside other predators and a multitude of plains game while adventures on the Zambezi River yield sightings of elephant, buffalo, crocodile, hippo. Here you can also choose a heli flip over Victoria Falls or even hurl yourself into the spectacular Batoka Gorge by bungee jump or gorge swing.

Day 1: Kafue National park

Upon arrival guest at the airport you are met and connected onto the Scenic flight onto Busanga Plains. The luxury camp lying on a verdant island in the middle of Kafue's wildlife-rich Busanga Plains, this intimate camp has just four tents set under leafy fig trees. Under canvas, the camp a favourite among guests, particularly at sunrise when the rising mist gradually reveals masses of Lechwe and Puku dotted across the floodplains.

Day 2 & 3: Hot Air Ballooning-Busanga Plains

Hot air ballooning in the Busanga plains is known to be the most exclusive wildlife ballooning in all of Africa. Nowhere else can you take to the skies in such style with nothing but you, the skies and the pristine plains and woodlands below that can be seen right up to the curvature of the earth. Watch Hippo playing far below and fly eye-to-eye with an eagle. This life changing experience is complimented by other activities that include game drives and walking safaris as well as boating early on in the season.

Day 4: Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park

Enjoy a scenic light aircraft flight to Livingston and then enjoy a short drive to your luxury lodge in Mosi-oa-Tunya National park overlooking the mighty Zambezi river. The camps expansive main area has gorgeous views of the majestic river and its wildlife, even from the rimflow pool. Twelve safari style tents with indulgent outdoor baths and an expansive deck from which to enjoy the the rambling of elephants and buffalo, grunting pods of hippo and basking crocodiles.

Day 5 & 6: Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park

The lodge is an ideal combinations of relaxation and adventure. Game drives and river cruises that yield excellent wildlife experiences can be followed by a therapeutic treatment at the spa. Tours to Victoria falls, a nearby rural village and Livingston town, add cultural and historical diversity. On the flying menu, choose between the flight of the angels, a scenic helicopter flight over the falls or for the adventurist you can hurl yourself into the spectacular Batoka George by bungee jump or gorge swing.

Day 7: Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and onwards

Depending on flight departure times, a final activity and leisurely breakfast can be enjoyed before transferring to the airport and further exciting destination.
